What We Do

Eight integrated thematic areas, delivered across Northern Uganda and measured against what actually changes for a household.

Our approach

One household, several needs, one organisation

A woman who survived captivity may need counselling, a way to earn, a school place for her child, and a community that will accept her back. Handing her to four different organisations rarely works. Our programmes are designed to meet her together.

Mental Health and Psychosocial Support

Healing Minds, Restoring Hope.

Mental health assessment, psychiatric treatment support, counselling, support groups, home visits, referrals and follow-up care for people affected by trauma, conflict, displacement, illness and poverty.

War Victims Rehabilitation

Restoring Lives, Rebuilding Futures.

Rehabilitation for war victims, survivors of violence, children born in captivity or born of war, and conflict-affected families — through counselling, case management, reintegration and livelihood support.

Education and Capacity Development

Empowering Minds, Transforming Communities.

Educational support, school enrolment and retention, life skills, mentorship, psychosocial support and child protection for vulnerable children and adolescents.

Livelihood and Economic Empowerment

Building Resilient Households for Sustainable Prosperity.

Vocational and skills training, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, village savings and loan associations, agricultural livelihoods and business development support.

Social Protection and Community Development

Protecting the Vulnerable, Strengthening Communities.

Case management, child protection, support for older persons and persons with disabilities, gender-based violence prevention and response, social assistance and advocacy.

Cultural Restoration and Peace Building

Preserving Heritage, Promoting Peace and Social Cohesion.

Engaging cultural, religious and traditional leaders to promote culturally appropriate care, social cohesion, ethical leadership and peaceful coexistence.

Humanitarian Action and Emergency Response

Ready When Communities Need Us Most.

Food distribution, non-food items, emergency relief supplies, health support, protection services and disaster preparedness for communities in crisis.

Research, Advocacy and Partnerships

Evidence That Changes Policy and Practice.

Research, strategic advocacy and partnerships with governments, academia, civil society and development partners to drive evidence-based, sustainable programmes.
